18 The top of the nozzle should be checked for a split (seen here), a common problem that usually results from over-tightening. It’s a compression fitting, so the ferrule on the fuel tube wedges itself into the nozzle top, ripping it open. The danger of ignoring such a problem is that a fuel leak—and even an engine fire—could result. Fortunately new nozzle tops are available.
