1 First unbolt the stock cover for the center console (left). Kinda plain looking, don'tcha think? On the right is the Mid America Console Cushion, ready for installation.
Not all customizing has to be a lengthy or involved process. Sometimes even a small item can make a dramatic difference in the look and style of your Corvette. That's probably why Mid America Motorworks ships as many as 50 of its Console Cushions per day. An in-house seamstress sews them up individually, to ensure meticulous quality control and a perfect fit.

2 Next, remove the inner liner from the underside of the cover. A strip of double-sided adhesive tape, included with the Console Cushion, needs to be cut to fit around the inside face.
The company also has an installation center that handles a variety of personalization products, in case you'd rather let a pro handle your console upholstery for a $40 labor charge. But we thought you'd like to see just how easy it is to install one (on a Z06 C6, in this case). So we followed along at last year's Funfest, in between the smoky burnouts and sizzling rock-star performances. At the end of the day, it was clear that this simple, comfort-enhancing upgrade was well worth the minimal effort and cost involved.
