“Steering response is immediate. Just think about changing lanes and you’re there. Turn-in is precise, with good feedback through the wheel. The Borgeson steering box also delivers a quicker ratio lock-to-lock, so less input is required.
“These urethane bushings provide a more direct connection to the pavement. The car feels like it’s really screwed together.
“The heavy-duty sway bars, gas shocks, and a set of modern Firestone radials produce one great handling package…much improved over the original setup.
“There’s minimal body roll, if any, and the front tires stick nicely in the turns. Just don’t feed in too much throttle: It’ll break the rear tires loose if you’re not judicious.
“The Gearstar 4L60E is one of the most startling improvements. The old 700R4 took all the fun out of this Vette. It shifted from First to Second in about 10 feet and was in Fourth gear by the time you hit 20 mph. The 4L60E gives us infinite adjustability on the shift points and firmness.
