Installing C6 LED Tail Lamps - Led'ing The Way

Now that personal fiscal responsibility is back in vogue, it's more important than ever that exterior modifications be functional and affordable as well as appearance-enhancing. One of the few mods to meet this divergent set of criteria is an LED taillamp kit such as the ones offered by Adjure Inc. While they may not pack the excitement factor of a carbon-fiber splitter or a C6.R-style rear wing, LED lamps do confer a number of benefits that can make them a smart addition to any budget-conscious upgrade regimen.

Begin the job by removing the #15 Torx screw at the top of the lamp.

Compared with factory bulbs, LED lamps draw less current, run cooler, last longer (up to 100,000 hours!), and are much brighter. And unlike stock incandescent bulbs, which must warm up before reaching full brightness, LED units turn on and off instantly the moment you touch the brake pedal or turn signal. Shortening the time between actuation and illumination gives drivers around you more time to react when you change directions or speeds.

As for ease of installation, LED taillamps are about as close to "plug and play" as it gets. They're available in two styles-black onyx (shown above) and clear red-to fit differing tastes and even carry a three-year warranty. Follow along now as we install a set on a new C6.
