This is done in preparation for the addition of the transmission and differential, which will be bolted together ahead of time. |  The transmission and diff... The tilt feature of the transmission jack makes mating the trans and diff to the torque tube a whole lot easier. |
 Once lined up, the trans is...  Once lined up, the trans is bolted to the torque tube and the fasteners are torqued to spec. |  The only real peculiarity...  The only real peculiarity in the assembly is this bolt, which you will have to source from GM. Or, if you're as observant as the guys at HiTech, you'll realize that a main bolt from a 4.6L Ford fits perfectly. |  The transmission-to-differential...  The transmission-to-differential bolts can now be torqued to spec. |
 Next, the transmission cooler...  Next, the transmission cooler lines are snapped in to place. |  When the diff let go, it took...  When the diff let go, it took the harness for the vehicle-speed sensor with it. Luckily, GM sells a stub kit that is simply spliced into the harness, thereby saving the cost of replacing the entire rear harness. |  The GM stub kit comes with...  The GM stub kit comes with these crimp connectors, which are coated with heat-shrink tubing to ensure a weather-proof union. |
