GMPP ZL1 Crate Motor Rod And Piston
A forged rod-and-piston package gives the Anniversary 427 a pump-gas-friendly 10.1:1 compression ratio.		 GMPP ZL1 Crate Motor Cylinder Heads
The engine employs GMPP aluminum oval-port heads with a 110cc chamber. With a high-velocity port design, the heads promote big-time low-end torque. They come with 2.18-inch intake and 1.88-inch exhaust valves.		 GMPP ZL1 Crate Motor Valves Rockers
The engine uses the same aluminum, 1.7-ratio, roller-rocker arms found on the ZZ572 crate engine. They ride on 71/416-inch studs.
GMPP ZL1 Crate Motor Camshaft
In a departure from the original ZL1, the Anniversary 427 gets a hydraulic-roller camshaft with 0.510/0.540-in. lift and 211/230-deg. duration (at 0.050 inch). This cam allows for a 6,000-rpm maximum operational range and a max output of 480 hp.		 GMPP ZL1 Crate Motor Intake Manifold
A matching oval-port aluminum intake manifold tops off the heads. Featuring a dual-plane design, it's a perfect match for the intended purpose of the 427 mill.		 GMPP ZL1 Crate Motor Carburetor
While the prototype Anniversary 427 used a 770-cfm Holley four-barrel carburetor like this one, a decision regarding the final production carb had not been made at the time of this writing.

We caught up with one of the prototype Anniversary 427 big-blocks being tested by GMPP. This shot shows the underside of the engine with the oil pan removed. That's some serious bottom-end hardware.		 GMPP ZL1 Crate Motor Dyno Mule
As you can tell from the carbon buildup on the pistons, this ZL1 short-block has been run on the dyno as part of GMPP's 50-hour durability testing. Each engine will come with a 24-month/50,000-mile warranty.
