And for the C5 Guys... The fifth-gen Corvette made huge leaps ahead in the chassis stiffness department. The C5's hydroformed frame rails and backbone-like center structure reduced chassis flex to minimal levels. The other problems top-out C4 owners experience: vibration, creaking, wheel hop, etc.; are almost non-existent. Even so, TTR's Ray Davis assures us that the C5 chassis does flex some under hard usage--hence an Anti-Flex Support Bar for C5s. In addition to providing some of the same roof-out benefits as the C4 bar (increased visibility, less heat inside the car, and more headroom), the C5 AFSB "does reduce what flex there is."
