I bought a 1971 Warbonnet Yellow Coupe right out of college and had 8 years of the best driving. My question is in looking at your photos it appeared to me that yours is not a 1971 since yours doesn't have "egg crate" side grilles on the front fenders nor a chrome front bumper. Mine did and I think GM carried that same combination over through 1972. Your Vette looks like a 1973. What gives here?

What are the stock cam specs for the L48 and what is the quadrajet profile? I would like to replace the intake with an aluminum intake and replace the quadrajet with a Holley and replace the stock cam with something that has more thump to it. I was thinking of a Demon carburator ( 600cfm ??? ) with a dual plane aluminum intake .... but am not sure of the cam ... any suggestions for any of these that would work together? In putting it back together on the inside, there is a long spring, a control rod with a finger grip on it and the shift ball. I put the spring on the control rod, slid it in the grove and put the ball on. The problem is when I pull up on the finger grip to put in gear, everything works but the finger grip will not pop back down, you have to push it down manually. My question is, is there a spring missing that pushes the finger grip down? The long spring fits on the rod just fine. Any help would be greatly appreciate. Thanks again for all your help. I had a tough time finding a driving school that wasn't in the western part of the country. After a couple of days of searching online I ran across this school and wanted to share it with my fellow enthusiasts. I have attended Henry Gilbert's Sports Car Driving Experience several times and always have a blast. The one to one instruction and 15 performance driving school Corvettes are awesome. If you live in the South this performance driving school is by far the best value. I normally don't recommend companies unless they are exceptional, this company is that: If you live in the Southeast and want to experience a high performance driving school via a fleet of race prepared Corvettes, come check out Sports Car Driving Experience. We provide one, two, and three day high performance instruction courses as well as teen driving instruction and corporate outings, Get one to one instruction at Sebring, Homestead-Miami Raceway, Palm Beach International Raceway, Roebling Road, and Daytona. We are based out of Florida and have trained thousands to get the most out of their performance vehicles. Check us out or sign-up for a course at www.corvette-school.com.

When I got it the engine had been recently "tricked out". It has all the original numbers (engine / trans/body) but a racing cam, headers, high rise manifold and I'm sure some internal boreing & stroking were included. It runs like a scalded dog!!. Blows away 5 L Mustangs, and most all foreign sports cars (except for the "exoctic ones"). It looks like it's putting out somewhere around 400 hp as it will do the quarter mile in around 5.4 sec and 110 mph. I haven't driven it for the past 3 yr or so and now I've got some time on my hands to do a liile restoration. The car looks GREAT but un fortunately time has taken its toll on things like the radiator, brake callipers, Power steering actuator etc etc. was wondering if the car was worth putting the time and $ into or should I be looking at something newer to be able to just turn the key and drive. Any insights ??????

As a Vette lover I am very happy that we can all claim the ZR1 as a world class super car. But lets not forget it's beautiful sibbling- THE MIGHTY Z06...The ZR1 has now captured the headlines, but the Z06 put us on the map. The C6 Z06 can still run in stock form with most any "super car" on the road. Tweek that 427 out a bit and it will play with anyone/anywhere. Another thing, I am tired of hearing about how the Z06 is such a great "bang for the buck". At almost $80,000 that's a pretty pricey "bargin". Now they are adding the ZR1 into the "bargin". Bottom line--THESE ARE WORLD CLASS SPORTS CARS-as are all Vettes in my opinion, and to keep writing the same stupid reviews, IE-the car has "cheap interior". Well if that's the best shot they can take so be it. I only know that every time I am behind the wheel of my baby, the chicks dig me...

My clutch is giving me warnings signs that it is at the end of its life. In the morning when the car is cold, while letting the clutch out with the transmission in gear a grinding noise can be heard. When the clutch is fully engaged there is no noise, and when the car warms up the noise no longer occurs. I have an 05 C-6 base model Vette with 64,000 miles on it. It's my daily driver and although I enjoy spirited driving I don't take the car to the track. I'm overwhelmed by the numerous choices in clutches. The main feature I'm looking for in a clutch with longevity and quality engineering.
