'01 C5 convertible | (This story was submitted by Anita's husband, Jay.) Anita is an 11-plus-year breast-cancer survivor, so she deserved something more than a stock Corvette. I had the overwhelming urge to modify one to suit her personality and honor her achievements.
I found an '01 Speedway White convertible with a tattered gray interior for sale, and purchased it. The entire interior was removed, and the center console, dash, gauge cluster, and door panels were painted white. The gray carpet was replaced with black, and the seats, and trim finished in custom white leather. The seats, console, and floor mats received custom-embroidered pink breast- cancer-awareness ribbons. Under the hood, the engine compartment was painted to match the body. Pink pinstripes were added to the exterior and the engine covers, while a B&B exhaust and chrome Weld Evo wheels were also installed. Anita loves driving her Corvette and is very active with the Wabash Valley Corvette Club. Her car is a local show favorite, and is used in many area breast-cancer fund-raising and awareness events.

'00 C5 coupe | This is our '00 C5 coupe, which we purchased from its original owner in September 2010, with 45,000 miles on the odometer. I sold my NCRS Top Flight '81 C3 for it, and I would not part with it for the world. My wife and I took the car to Corvettes at Carlisle this past August, and we plan to repeat the trip in upcoming years. We love the ride, comfort, power, and fuel economy that this Vette offers.Mods include a B&B bullet exhaust (installed by the previous owner), a Vararam B-2 cold-air intake, a dyno tune by ECS, and--just this winter--some nice interior upgrades. Thanks to VETTE for some great ideas and information!

'91 C4 convertible | When we first spotted our L98 roadster nearly two years ago, it was in poor condition, both mechanically and cosmetically. On the positive side, it was a rare (one of 835) Steel Blue Metallic car with a blue interior, and somewhere down the line, it had received both a Magnaflow exhaust and C5-type wheels. That it had 162,000 miles on it--and needed lots of work--brought the asking price down to a real bargain. We rescued the car, and the restoration has been a real labor of love. What a trip! Along the way, we've visited the National Corvette Museum, joined the Greenwood Corvette Club, and met some wonderful folks who are as passionate about their Vettes as we are about ours. We love VETTE and look forward to each issue. We hope to see our pride and joy in "The 'Glass Menagerie."
