11 This intricately decorated bell and pavilion were donated to the people of Los Angeles by the Republic of Korea in 1976. The gift was intended to celebrate the bicentennial of U.S. independence and to honor veterans of the Korean War. The bell has no clapper but is struck from the outside with a wooden log. It’s set in a pagoda-like stone structure, which was constructed on the site by 30 craftsmen flown in from Korea. View Related Article
