'67 C3 Coupe
Thirty years ago, while in high school, I had a '65 327/365 Nassau Blue Corvette coupe. It was mostly incorrect, with triple taillights and fender flares-the typical unrestored car of the day. It's always bothered me that I sold it, and my goal ever since has been to find another midyear Corvette. I've been reading VETTE magazine to keep up with the hobby.As time went on I made more money, but the cars appreciated faster than my ability to earn more. One day while browsing through eBay, I found a Corvette that made all of the memories rush back. It was a '67 427/390 coupe in Marlboro Maroon with its original Protect-O-Plate, window sticker, and tank sticker. I called the owner in Tennessee and talked for hours. It sounded great, so I took a leap of faith and bought the car sight unseen. After a few agonizing weeks of waiting, it arrived, looking and running even better than described. It would mean the world to me if my car could be in your magazine.

2009 Chevrolet Corvette Z06
I started my Corvette adventure in 1993 with a '90 Turquoise Metallic automatic convertible. After four years, I moved on to a '96 Sebring Silver Collector Edition 'vert with a ZF manual. I finally ordered my first new Corvette-an '01 Magnetic Red convertible with a six-speed-in January 2001. Three years later, I ordered a new '04 LeMans Blue convertible, also a manual.My next Corvette was an '07 Atomic Orange convertible six-speed, bringing us to the car in this picture, my '09 Cyber Grey Z06. Until now, I've never owned a Corvette that wasn't a convertible, but this is one coupe I can get used to quickly. It's the culmination of some great Corvettes into an awesome display of elegance, beauty, and definitely speed.

'06 C6 Coupe
This is our '06 Daytona Sunset Orange coupe with a six-speed and Magnetic Selective Ride Control. I've added the dual-mode exhaust; it's the greatest thing since the good ol' days of cut-outs. During a fall cruise with the Corvette Club of Vermont, the Vette tried to hide in a pumpkin patch. What it didn't see was the sign on the shed reading, "All pumpkins 39 cents a pound." I only wish I could have paid that price! We've owned three other Corvettes-a '69 Maroon coupe and '99 and '01 Pewter coupes-and loved them all.

This is a picture of our '69 roadster sitting above our '09 Victory Red coupe. To say much has changed in the last 40 years would be an understatement, but both Corvettes have a special place in our hearts. The tag on the '09 even reads, "4TYRSL8R."
