What: ’90 C4 coupe
I purchased this car in bone-stock condition some 17 years ago from its first owner. Over time, I converted it into a streetable race machine. The L98 has been rebuilt into a 383 stroker, which, thanks to supercharging and intercooling, provides 490 hp and 500 lb-ft of torque at the rear wheels. Almost everything else -- the transmission, brakes, suspension, and exhaust system -- has been upgraded from stock, except for the 3.07 rear gears.
Presently, “Roxy” has 39,000 miles on her, and she always seems to elicit a smile from the viewing public. I’d like to think she’s a one-of-a-kind representative of Corvette’s fourth generation.
Despite Roxy’s attire, she only does the car-show circuit. As per my last will and testament, this Corvette will one day become property of the National Corvette Museum.

What: ’13 C6 427 Convertible
In the summer of 2012, we went on a Corvette Assembly Plant tour in Bowling Green, Kentucky, where one of my daughters got to start up a new Vette right off the assembly line. (She was very happy!) Then we visited the National Corvette Museum, where we saw one of these beauties on display at the entrance. We instantly fell in love.
Back home in Wisconsin, we saw this one at our local dealership and bought it. It had just 8 original miles on it at the time. After driving home on December 6, it rained and then snowed, and then the roads were salted, so we weren’t able to drive the Corvette again until May. It was torture, but the car was fun to look at.
Now we are driving happy, and we love this Vette!
