As an avid reader of VETTE, I thought I would send in pictures of our ’66 Mosport Green L72 427/425 Sting Ray. This car had a total frame-off restoration about six years ago. It has some of the most desired ’66 Corvette options: teakwood steering wheel, side-mounted exhaust, power steering and brakes, and leather seats with headrests. We drive it to and from shows.
Thank you for all you do. I love all your articles, and your support of our wonderful hobby. Keep them on the road!

What: ’80 C3, ’11 C6 coupe
Having always loved Corvettes, I purchased my first one, an L48-powered 1980, in 2007. The previous owner stripped the paint down to the fiberglass and painted it red. Since purchasing the car, I’ve restored the interior, suspension, and engine. It currently has 58,549 miles on the odometer. It’s fun to drive, and I take it to many local shows.
Our second Vette, the LS3-powered ’11 coupe seen here, was purchased in April 2012. My son and I drove it to Effingham, Illinois, for Corvette Funfest 2012, and we plan on going to this year’s Funfest as well. What a difference in ride and performance there is between it and our late-third-generation ’80.
As part of our “bucket list,” my wife and I plan on driving our ’11 to all of the lower 48 states. We started last summer, and the odometer already reads 8,516 miles.
Both cars are a blast to drive, for different reasons!
