Stunning exhaust systems from Mid America, SLP, Corsa, and B&B were on display. This B&B setup is equipped with vacuum-operated muffler-bypass valves, la the C6 Z06 and '08 NPP cars.

For the yellow lovers in the crowd, this '77 Corvette Yellow Stingray was a standout. It featured a 408-cube "Mini Rat" small-block.

Over on the Manufacturers Midway, SLP Performance Parts displayed an '07 Vette outfitted with the company's ZL500 package and new "Stinger"-style hood. The hood is built to OEM specs and features a functional heat extractor.

Corvette engineer Tom Hill gave a seminar on the new features on the '08 Corvette. If Black isn't your style...

...then perhaps the new-for-'08 Velocity Blue is.

In what may have been the most bizarre Corvette sighting of the entire show, we spotted one Z06 whose owner had transformed it into a traveling jukebox. Where do we had put the quarter?

Lingenfelter Performance modified this wild-looking '05 to produce a dyno-verified 500 rwhp.

VETTE Editor Jay Heath (far left) made this LPE-built '98 his pick in the Celebrity Choice car show on Friday. The car is owned by Jason Werdrick (second from left), of Park Ridge, Illinois.

Considerably more extreme in appearance was this Vette, chosen by celebrity judge George Barris. The purple-and-yellow '89 coupe is owned by Kevin Congrove (middle), of Hayes, Kansas.

Now that's what we call dedication to the hobby.
