When it comes to selecting aftermarket embellishments for your Corvette, having too many to choose from is just about right. Project cars are never done, and Vettes in particular are considered blank canvases constantly in need of fresh custom touches. As Chris Perry, VP of global marketing and strategy for Chevrolet, notes, “Go to any Corvette enthusiast event, and you’ll have a hard time finding a factory-stock vehicle.”

In particular, when we find all sorts of stuff spilling out of that horn o’ plenty called the Specialty Equipment Market Association, or SEMA, show (which fittingly take place just before Thanksgiving each year), we know it’s harvest time. We gathered up a bushel basket full of choice items for enhancing both the performance and appearance of your Corvette. So enjoy, and don’t skimp on the gravy.

Under the Bonnet

Magnuson has long been a leader in positive- displacement supercharging technology for Corvette engines. The company’s latest offering boasts the added benefit of being able to fit beneath a stock C6 (LS3 or LS7) hood. Generating from 5 to 6 pounds of boost, this sixth-gen Eaton TVS blower is said to add 130 rwhp, along with substantially improved midrange response. A liquid-to-air intercooler, front-mounted heat exchanger, electric water pump, and intercooler-coolant reservoir keep intake-air temps in check for consistent performance. Even better, an integrated bypass valve allows the rotors to spin freely under light engine loads, minimizing parasitic losses and maximizing fuel economy. Each unit is backed by a three-year/36,000 mile warranty, and longer warranties are available optionally.

All Pumped Up

Give your ’08-’11 base C6 or Grand Sport the same forced-induction technology found on the ZR1 with SLP’s Positive Displacement TVS 2300 Supercharger. Available with a satin-black finish, this blower (PN 92010A) features a four-lobe rotor pack for optimum power and efficiency. SLP claims improvements in output of 145 hp on stock LS3s (from 430 hp to 575 hp). Each package includes a performance-optimized PCM tune, a new cold-air induction tube and high-flow filter, and all necessary hardware and instructions. All systems are 50-state emissions legal. (Note: A new hood, such as SLP PN 100025, is required for installation.)

Getting the Lowdown on Corvette Pans

Want your C1-C5 Corvette’s suspension to “get down,” but not so low that the oil pan scrapes? Canton has got you covered with its new SBC unit (PN 15-200T). This long-sump design, based off a stock early Corvette pan, is a direct-fit upgrade for a variety of chassis where ground clearance is an issue. Even though the pan has a lower profile than stock, it provides an increased, 5.5-quart capacity. Its 16-gauge construction, meanwhile, is TIG welded, double leak-tested, and gold-iridite finished. It’s even designed to work with the stock dipstick, oil pump, and starter, making it easier to install a newer-style engine in an older chassis.

Singin’ in the Rain

Tired of water and wind creeping into the cabin of your C5? Metro Moulded Parts offers replacement roof-rail seals (PN RR 2009-H) for ’99 to ’04 Corvette hardtops. They’re built right in here in the USA and come with a 30-year warranty.

Dyno Data

According to K&N, the company’s new ZR1 cold-air intake (PN 63-3080), improved the output of an otherwise-stock ’10 model by more than 27 hp at 5,948 rpm and nearly 20 lb-ft of torque at 4,288 rpm. While individual results may vary, these are clearly significant increases from a straightforward upgrade. (Note that while this unit is street legal in most states, it’s not CARB certified for use in California, or in other states that have adopted CARB emissions standards.)

In the Hood

Seibon’s new carbon- fiber hood for C5 Corvettes was literally fresh from the mold at show time, and information was scarce. Given the company’s reputation for building top-notch carbon parts at reasonable prices, however, this stylish, gloss-finished piece should prove a welcome addition to the Corvette body-enhancement market. Look for more details in a future issue.

Rolling Along

Also brand new at SEMA was Hawk Performance’s line of 6061 forged-aluminum wheels. The Peregrine, shown here, is available in 18-/19-inch sizes and various offsets to fit Corvette Z06 and Grand Sport applications. Hawk, best known for its popular line of high-performance brake pads, displayed the wheel on a new Torch Red GS, a configuration that elicited many an admiring gaze from show attendees.

Tuning into Corsa’s Power Channel

To complement its line of Corvette exhaust components, Corsa now offers C6 performance intakes with “Power Channel” technology. Consisting of parallel channels designed to direct airflow more efficiently from the filter to the throttle body, this configuration is said to improve throttle response and optimize power levels. Corsa’s intakes are hand-formed from aerospace-grade carbon fiber that ensures both high strength and low weight, and they feature an integrated thermal barrier to lower air temps.

Kookin’ With Kooks

Now in its 50th year of business, this family-owned-and-operated business prides itself on producing high-horsepower headers and exhaust systems for domestic performance vehicles. One of the company’s latest offerings is a header designed to fit the small-block Chevy engines installed in ’63-’82 Corvettes. These headers are made of 304-grade polished stainless steel, available in two primary sizes (13⁄4x3 and 17⁄8x3 inches), and designed to provide both gains in horsepower and that classic sound your Corvette deserves.

Fluid Dynamics

Cooler fluid for your transmission means not only longer life, but also more-reliable, consistent shifting in high-performance applications. Flex-a- lite’s new Translife Cooler Kit for ’68-’82 Corvettes is designed to provide just that. This kit (PN 4118GMT) includes the cooler, 4 feet of rubber hose, hose clamps, and nylon nuts and bolts for mounting. Also available from Flex-a-lite are direct-fit aluminum radiator/electric fan combinations for all C3 models (pictured). Because they require no drilling or cutting, these combo units can be installed in approximately four hours.
